MARQUETTE OFFERS DC FORWARD
June 4, 2008
Even with a pair of verbal commitments from 2009 forwards Jeronne Maymon out of Madison (WI) and Erik Williams of Cypres (TX), new Marquette coach Buzz Williams is casting a wide net in his 2009 recruiting efforts as the Golden Eagles are among the Big East Crews Warming Up to Thomas Robinson.
Thomas Robinson, a 6’8”, 205 pound forward from Washington, DC has seen his interest move into the recruiting fast lane, going 150 miles per hour. He has received offers from Marquette, Georgia, George Washington, Virginia, Oklahoma and Virginia Tech. Pittsburgh, North Carolina State, Boston College, Minnesota, UMASS, Drexel, Robert Morris and George Mason have all expressed strong interest, with others like Providence taking a look.
Presently, Robinson is a hard playing forward most comfortable in the interior, where he rebounds, defends, attacks the cup, and displays a much improved jump hook with either hand. Going forward, Thomas will continue improving his perimeter skills, which will as a coach recently suggested allow him to excel at either the high or mid major levels.
His Squash All Beefs AAU coach, Dwight Redd recently noted to Ron Bailey during the spring open period, college coaches have indicated “when they see Thomas, they see a kid who works hard, is aggressive, and has a mean streak”.
Robinson is being strongly recruited by Marquette as they want him to attend their Elite Camp.
